Medicaid Waiver Programs / Interest Lists
Waivers let states use Medicaid funds for long-term home and community-based services for people with disabilities or special health-care needs and the elderly. There are seven waiver programs in Texas. Because some of these programs have lengthy waits, some even 10+ years, you should call immediately to be placed on the "interest list"! You do not have to qualify to be added to the interest list. Our partners at MHMR have provided a handy call list with numbers and more information on each waiver service. Download your copy.
Tarrant Cares Information Resource Center and Community Calendar
Tarrant Cares is an online information service for individuals, families, caregivers and agencies. This one resource can provide countless solutions for issues your family may be facing. You can also create personal health records, join blogs, and see events in the area on the Community Calendar.
The Navigate Life Texas (NLT) website, a project supported by the Texas Health and Human Services (HHS), was created to inform and empower parents of children with disabilities or special health care needs. Health care, education, insurance, transition to adulthood and how to connect with other parents are among the many topics found on NLT.
